Economics Studies: CSCU Pathway Transfer, A.A.*

Program Design

CSCU Pathway Transfer, A.A. degree programs are for Connecticut Community College students who wish to transfer to one of the Connecticut State Universities or Charter Oak without either losing any credits or being required to take extra credits in order to complete a bachelor’s degree in that same discipline. Community College students can complete associate degree programs that transfer without hassle to all Connecticut State Universities and Charter Oak State College offering their major. Upon transfer, students are guaranteed full junior status and can complete a bachelor’s degree in their major without losing any credits or be required to take any extra credits.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the CSCU Pathway Transfer: Economics Studies degree program, students will have met the following competency outcomes and goals:

1.Students will be able to analyze and evaluate real world economic problems using statistical methods.

2.Students will be able to effectively communicate economic based solutions to multiple audiences.

3.Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of macroeconomic concepts, theories, measurements and policies.

4.Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of microeconomic concepts, theories, measurements and policies

At Central Connecticut State University:      Economics, B.A.

At Eastern Connecticut State University:     General Economics, B.A.
                                                                     Business Economics, B.A.

At Southern Connecticut State University:   Economics, B.A.

At Western Connecticut State University:    Economics, B.A.

Note that not all courses will be available every semester. You will notice that in many instances you will be able to choose the specific course you will take from within a category. *Becoming Connecticut State Community College

A merger of Connecticut’s 12 community colleges is underway. As a part of this merger, modifications will be made to academic programs. Students who do not complete their programs by the end of the Spring 2023 term will be matched with the Connecticut State Community College (CT State) program that most closely aligns with ​the student’s Spring 2023 program and is offered at the current Manchester Community College location. The College is committed to students completing their education with a minimum of disruption. *You are free to choose any courses at or above 100-level to complete unrestricted electives, although you may need to use these credits to take courses that prepare you for required courses in the degree program.  You should also consider using unrestricted electives to meet foreign language requirements at Central, Eastern and Western Connecticut State Universities or to begin work on completing a minor.  Central Connecticut State University will require that you complete a minor by earning at least 18 credits in one area outside your major field; you must complete at least 9 of those minor credits at Central.  You can also complete other General Education requirements for CCSU, SCSU, WCSU, and COSC-but not ECSU.  You are encouraged to meet with your advisor to determine which courses to select.

CSCU Pathway Transfer Degree: Economics Studies, A.A. Credit Total: 60 credits

In order to graduate and be guaranteed admission to a State University or to Charter Oak State College, you must earn an overall 2.0 grade point average.
