CJS* 220: Criminal Investigation3 Credits This course will address the basic aspects of criminal investigation; present an overview of crimes and their elements; identify the major goals of a criminal investigation; and, discuss various investigative techniques and the criminal investigator’s relationship with individuals and other agencies. Instruction topics include: conduct at crime scenes; collection and preservation of evidence; interviews and interrogations; crime scene photography; crime scene sketching; and report writing. Students will also participate in the investigation and analysis of a mock crime scene. Prerequisites: Completion of or concurrent enrollment in ENG* 101 , and completion of CJS* 101 or CJS* 105 Offered: Fall
