MUS* 116: Music Theory II3 Credits MUS*215 An introduction to the principles of tonal music through listening, analysis, and writing. Topics include melody, diatonic harmonic progression, non-chord tones, advanced voice leading, analysis of small forms, secondary functions, and basic modulatory techniques. The auyral compenent of the material studied in this course coverd in MUS* 168 . Therefore, MUS* 116 and MUS* 168 must be taken concurrently. Open to any student at the college. Prerequisites: “C” or better in MUS* 115 and Corequisite: MUS* 168 Offered: Spring
