DAS* 136: Infection Control in Dentistry This course will familiarize students with their role as a preventer of disease transmission in the clinical setting. Theory will involve diseases of concern in dentistry, modes of disease transmission, and prevention of disease transmission through personal protection, disinfection and sterilization. Focus will be on standards/ guidelines as established by OSHA, CDC, and the ADA. Application of infection control skills will take place during labs for Chairside Dental Assisting, Dental Materials, and Dental Radiography. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Dental Assistant Program Offered: Fall
