MUS* 101: Music History and Appreciation I3 Credits This course is a survey of western European music from the Medieval Period through Baroque with an emphasis given to stylistic forms (i.e. plainchant, motet, opera fugue), composers (i.e. Palestrina, Corelli, Morley, Vivaldi, Bach, Handel), and the cultural/societal impact on the music. The course will also review the elemental components of music (i.e. pitch, melody, rhythm and harmony). Prerequisites: Eligibility for ENG* 093 Offered: Fall Fulfills General Education - Mode 1 Fulfills General Education - Knowledge of Human Thought & Expression
