SOC* 101: Principles of Sociology3 Credits (Formerly SOC 101) This course is designed to provide students with a basic overview and understanding of the discipline of sociology. The course focuses on the concepts, methods, theories, and levels of analysis used in the study of social interaction. The readings and lectures will examine a broad range of social issues and questions; the different theories of social behavior used to explain these questions; and the ways in which sociologists scientifically examine these theories. The goal of the course is to provide students with the ability and knowledge to critically examine and understand the social issues that impact their daily lives. Prerequisites: Eligibility for ENG* 101 . Offered: Fall, Spring Fulfills General Education - Mode 6 Fulfills General Education - Knowledge of Human Expressions & Behavior
