ENG* 271: Film and Literature3 Credits (Formerly ENG 140) This course explores what happens when classic (and not-so-classic) works of fiction and drama are brought to the screen. In studying specific literature-to-film adaptations, students examine the elements of both media (metaphor, narration, symbol, shot, sound, editing) and debate what differences, if any, exist between so-called serious art and entertainment. Prerequisites: ENG* 101 with a grade of “C” or better. Offered: Fall, Spring
