ART* 281: Digital Photography II3 Credits Through demonstrations, assignments, critiques, supervised and independent lab work and looking at and talking about a broad range of photographic imagery, students will develop new skills and further explore the creative/expressive side of photography. Students will review the fundamentals of exposure and creative camera controls, learn a non-destructive workflow, advanced masking techniques, and how to process RAW files. Other projects will explore studio lighting, high dynamic range (HDR) imaging and fine art inkjet output. Students will be encouraged to develop a personal, expressive style in addition to mastering a range of practical photographic techniques while they assemble a cohesive, thematic, exhibition-quality, hard-copy portfolio. Students must own their own digital single lens reflex or prosumer digital camera with RAW capability and purchase their own storage media, inkjet paper, mat board and other supplies. Prerequisites: ART* 250 with a C or better, eligibility for ENG* 101 or permission from Instructor Offered: Fall
