SGN* 110: Sign Language for Early Childhood Teachers3 Credits This course introduces the student to American Sign Language (ASL), the language used by the Deaf Community in the United States. Students will learn how to utilize ASL with a variety of children, regardless of hearing status. ASL is widely used with hearing infants and in early childhood educational settings. This course will focus not only on learning ASL, but how the use of ASL can help a variety of children, including those with autism, those who have cognitive impairments, and those with communication and/or learning disabilities.
