HLT* 175: Introduction to Holistic Health3 Credits This course is an introduction to the theory, philosophy, and applications of complementary and alternative medicine within today’s health care system. Students will be given a general survey of holistic health practices and issues, with a focus on the variety of alternative and complementary modalities that are present in integrative health care settings. Students will learn about the many alternatives to traditional Western or allopathic medicine, and how these various models, systems and therapies impact the delivery of healthcare in the United States. Students will become aware of the vast array of resources available and the type of training involved in licensing/certification. This course is meant to serve as a general educational experience for students who wish to become familiar with holism through integrative and naturopathic medicine.
