IDS* 101: The First Year Experience3 Credits Formerly SD 111 This course provides students with the skills, knowledge and confidence necessary to succeed in college and emphasizes the role that effective choice plays. Students are encouraged to think, read, problem-solve, and write critically. Topics include both academic and organizational skills and aim to empower students through heightened self-awareness. The course fosters an understanding and appreciation for the diversity of the college community while encouraging students to become responsible and enthusiastic participants in their education.
